Mr. Jacobs' Math Class Reads Outliers

Mr. Jacobs' math class is reading Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers together and discussing math concepts represented in the book.
What a great way to combine math and reading comprehension-- go figure +/
"Statistically, reading is a good bet."
James Jacobs
"An innate gift and a certain amount of intelligence are important,
but what really pays is ordinary experience."
Malcolm Gladwell
"Outliers was an interesting book that gave great insight on the statistics of successful people. I enjoyed reading Outliers and I thought it was well written."--Meghan Gerry
"The book Outliers was an interesting collection of statistical situations involving different things such as hockey player scores, why Asians are so smart, and others."--Richard Wynne
"The book Outliers is a well thought out book. The author, Malcom Gladwell, does a great job of describing how people today have been able to achieve greatness. I have a firm idea now that not only does success require hard work but chance to be able to take advantage of hard work. It is a great book."--Micah Dempsey
"I felt that Malcom Gladwell's book Outliers was very well written. However, I didn't agree with everything he wrote since he left a lot up to chance. Just because someone wasn't born at a certain time with certain circumstances doesn't mean they can't excel at things." --Sherly Jones
"The book is an interesting read for any statistics gurus. The book raises conclusions to mysteries that wouldn't normally be considered. I enjoyed the fast read and would definitely recommend reading."--Laura Lane
